Singers Glen Cemetery

"The cemetery [(1)] was first the private burial plot of the Good Family. In 1826 Mrs. Frances Good expressed a desire to be buried at the location and shortly after, on Aug 26, 1826, she died and was the first person buried at the location [(3)]. In 1855 at the time her son Henry sold the family farm to the Toflingers, he & his wife Elizabeth, deeded a half acre, surrounding the grave of his mother and others, to 3 trustees; Joseph Funk, Christian Burkholder & Henry Frank." (2)

This remark about the origin of Singers Glen mentions Mrs. Good's son Henry. but we have found no trace of a son Henry. It probably was her grandson Henry Good who deeded land to the cemetery. -- dg 2007 Sep 13
