1884: "In the spring of 1884, thirty-three plain dressed Pennsylvania Dutch Mennonites, thirty men and three women, boarded a train at Mr. Joy [sic Mt. Joy], Pennsylvania (1) for Leavenworth, Kansas. L. L. Beck was a member of this group." (2)

Members of this group including L. L. Beck founded the Catlin Mennonite Church near Peabody, KS.
