In 1764 Jacob Good (GC2) receives a patent from John Penn for 628 acres along Muddy Creek. (1) In 1766, Jacob divides that homestead between his two sons, Peter (GC21) and Jacob (GC22). This is original deed by which Jacob the son inherits his 329 acres of the original homestead.

This deed has original signatures of both Jacob (GC2) the father and Jacob (GC22) the son, and it identifies Jacob (GC2) and Susannah as the parents of Jacob (GC22). It also identifies Peter (GC21) as a son of Jacob (GC2).

?? Does there still exist somewhere a comparable deed from Jacob and Susannah to their other son Peter? -- dg 2011 Jan 8

Through the courtesy of Luke Burkholder, these digital images were produced from the original deed by the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society under the direction of Carolyn Wenger in 2010. The transcription was provided by Romaine Stauffer on 2007 Nov 19.
