Pennsyvlania German Pioneers (1) records three kinds of immigrant lists
for ships arriving in Pennsylvania between 1727 and 1775. (Vol. I, p xliii)
A. Captains' lists.
B. Oath of allegiance signers.
C. Oath of abjuration signers.
Vol. I has transcriptions of the lists. Vol. II has facsimiles of
the original signatures.
The Molly/Molley sailed from Rotterdam under "Jno. Hodgeson,
Master," stopped in Deal, England for "Clearance from Officers of
Customs there," and arrived at Penn's Landing
in Philadelphia on September 30, 1727 with about
300 immigrants. (Vol. 1, p13) This was one of
the first ships for which passenger lists were recorded, and
Capt. Hodgeson made a list only of males over the age of 16.
