Memorial Services for Lawrence Leon
Proctor will be Friday, February 12th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rose
of Lima Catholic Church. Private inurnment will take place in the
Stanford Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has taken
place. The Cloyd Funeral Home & Cremation Service is
assisting the family.
Lawrence Leon Proctor 90 of Stanford died
early Friday morning at his home near Windham of natural causes.
He was born December 4, 1919 in Stanford the son of Durward and Emma
(Huguenin) Proctor. He received his schooling in Windham,
Stanford and Cloquet, MN where he graduated high school in 1938.
He returned to the ranch near Stanford and worked until going to Oregon
and working until entering the U.S. Army. He served during World
War II receiving his discharge in the 1946 and returning to
Stanford. On January 12, 1949 he was united in marriage to Helen
McKenna in Bozeman, MT. They made their home, raised their family
on the ranch until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Stanford Senior Citizens Club, Montana Farmers Union and a friend to many.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years
Helen, one son Lennie (Mary Sue) all of Stanford, one daughter Mary
Beth (Dan) Noland of Great Falls, MT; seven grandchildren Krista
Kochivar, Mike Kochivar, Kara Kochivar, Lynze Proctor, Emily Proctor,
Katelyn Noland and Keegan Noland and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends are asked to make memorials to the
Stanford Senior Citizens, Judith Basin Library or the charity of their
choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.
