The Examiner & Herald

more stories »

The Examiner & Herald was published weekly in Lancaster, Pa., during the middle years of the nineteenth century, although the newspaper's name changed a number of times during that period. By digitizing the years 1834 - 1872, we provide our patrons with a view of politics and events of this tumultuous period from a liberal political slant, providing balance to the more conservative perspective of The Intelligencer-Journal.

We are excited to announce the availability of our fourth digitized newspaper collection: Lancaster's Examiner & Herald, 1834-1872. (The Intelligencer Journal, 1848-1871, was digitized by Penn State and is also available through our web site.)
