1740 ca.: Born to Jacob Good (GC2) and Susannah Scherer, (1,6) probably on the family homestead overlooking Muddy Creek in Brecknock Twp. of Lancaster Co., PA.

These children are identified from the deeds cited above for the sale of Jacob's land after his death in Virginia to Jeremiah Kyle. Because these children are scattered among Dauphin Co., PA, Lancaster Co., PA, and Rockingham Co., VA, histories often do not name all six. Two that do are (9,12).

1766 Nov 22: Jacob's father Jacob divides his homestead on Muddy Creek equally between his sons Peter and Jacob, with Jacob receiving the home site. (1,15)

Because Jacob died without a will, his widow Frances and all 12 of his children are the heirs to his estate. All 13 of them, except Catharine, are named in the land deeds for the sale of Jacob's land after his death. At 17, Catharine is still a minor, and the deed (4) is signed by her guardian Henry Rhodes (13), husband of her sister Elizabeth.
