1831 Aug 14: Born in Wurtenburg, Germany (1 p247) to Jacob and Judith Gaiser. (5) Does this refer to the current state of Württemberg? -- dg 2011 Nov 23
?? When was Jacob born? The 1900 US Census (5) states that
he was born "Aug 1831," and his ages on the 1870 and 1880 US Census (3,4)
agree with that. Family sources
(1 p247) and
(2 p101)
state a birth date August 14, 1839. However, was Jacob's sister
Catherine born July 6, 1839 (2), and then Jacob on August 14? Probably
not. Written by hand, "1" and "9" easily can be confused. -- dg 2011
