his mother Magdalena, and his two brothers David and Abraham. (3)
1860 Jun 25: US Census. Noah and Frances are living with all ten of their children in
Marion Twp. of Allen Co., OH (14)
1866 Feb: Noah enters an agreement with
Henry Shenk
to improve his 80 acres in
Page Co., IA.
"Shenk paid Good $420 and promised him free rent for six years in
return for which Good was to 'brake and fence the above described land
and build a house on it 18 by 24 feet with a small kitchen to it and
to dig a well and wall it and to set out an orchard of a hundred fruit
trees and to take good care of it and to plant a grove around it.'" (2 NG-005)

1870 Aug 19: Noah and Frances are living with five of their children in Amity Twp.,
Page Co., IA. (15)
1872: In the spring, upon completing their agreement with Henry Shenk, Noah and Frances
become one of the first Good families to move to
Marion Co., KS.
They settle about one mile west and three miles south of
Marion Center. Today it is called simply
Marion, KS. (18)
They are joined that fall by the family of their son-in-law
Benjamin Bare
from Elkhart, Indiana (13 p46), and then also by son-in-law
Emanuel Shupe
from Clarinda, Iowa. (11 p129)
1878 Mar 1: Noah files a homestead claim on the W/2 NW/4
Sec. 18-20S-4E. (20) The northwest corner of this section is now the
intersection of 170th and Remington. This is one mile west and two
miles south of
Marion, KS.
